Nancy Powell Obituary, Death – With the passing of Nancy Powell, a cherished family member, a void will always exist. Nancy was born on December 24, 1958, and her abrupt departure from her new group home in Warner Robins on March 1, 2024, shocked and devastated everyone who knew and loved her. This tribute serves to celebrate the life of a “special Christmas angel” who brought comfort and joy to her loved ones. Love, family, and a genuine appreciation for life’s small pleasures defined Nancy’s life.

Passions and Interests: Her employment at Lenox Square in Atlanta and her high school certificate from Sequoyah led to her finding fulfillment in both her personal and professional lives. Nancy’s younger brother Stephen was without a doubt her favorite person because of their unbreakable friendship. Nancy had a great deal of sincere interests. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, and participating in church activities at Lawrenceville Road United Methodist Church the most.

Lovefully Recalled: Her love of athletics, especially when she watched games on TV with her father, showed a common interest that strengthened their bond as father and daughter. Nancy’s love of communication was apparent in her talks and participation in family and friend gatherings, extending beyond her hobbies and interests. Nancy’s family was deeply impacted by her warmth and endearing disposition. Robert Brooks Powell, her father, referred to her as “my girl,” while Margie Massey Powell, her mother, had pleasant memories of her as “Curly.”

Final Resting Spot: Her abrupt departure has left her brother Stephen Sengupta, sister Connie Sealy, nieces Parker and Erin Sealy, and other family members in mourning. Nancy also leaves behind over thirty cousins who will always cherish her memory, along with her uncle, Doug Head, and aunt, Dotti Laycock. On Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM, Nancy’s parents will be buried beside her in Atlanta’s Westview Cemetery. The family is requesting that attendees honor Nancy’s joy by dressing in pastel colors. Leading family members in a heartfelt farewell, Dr. Billy Oliver will serve as the event’s master of ceremonies.

Preserving the Legacy of Nancy: In honor of Nancy’s dedication to her faith and community, the family has asked that donations be made in lieu of flowers to Heart of Georgia DDM or Lawrenceville Road United Methodist Church. Snow’s Memorial Chapel, Cherry Street, has the distinction of arranging Nancy’s funeral, ensuring that it is a respectful and emotional celebration of a life well-lived. For everyone who knew her, Nancy Powell left a loving legacy and a deep imprint. I hope she finds eternal peace now.
