Jim Casey Obituary, Great Member Of Holy Redeemer Church Has Passed Away

Jim Casey Obituary, Death – It is with a mix of gratitude for a life well-lived and profound sorrow that the family of Jim Casey announces his peaceful passing at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Monday, March 4, 2024. Jim’s journey began on August 28, 1940, in St. John’s NL, as the cherished son of the late Augustine James Casey and Margaret (McNamara) Casey. He also embraced his role as a step-grandfather to Maggie and Siân Evans, and Ciara and Tamara Horton, and step-great-grandfather to Sullivan Woolridge.

A Beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather: Jim was the beloved husband of Joan (nee Redstone) for an incredible 61 years, a testament to their enduring love and commitment. As a father, Jim was devoted to his children: Sean (Deirdre), Tim (Liz), and Joanne (Jason Horton). His legacy extends further as Grampie to Ryan (Jenna McCarthy), Dean (Hannah Theriault), Clare (Ryan Graves), Thomas, Brett, and Austin.

Cherished by Family and Friends: Jim’s passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family. He was the loving brother to Maureen (Frank) Nolan, Sandra Murphy, Rosemary Gillies, Ruth (Brian) Savaria, and Ursula (Kevin) Stamp. His memory will be held dear by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives he touched with kindness and warmth. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Redeemer Church on Friday at 10:30 a.m., followed by interment in The Roman Catholic Cemetery in the spring.

A Legacy of Philanthropy and Business Acumen: Jim’s philanthropic endeavors and business acumen have left an indelible mark on his community and beyond. However, it was his unwavering devotion to Joan and his family that truly defined him. His priorities were always clear, his family coming first, above all else. Jim’s final journey will commence with visitation at MacLean Funeral Home Swan Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim’s memory may be made to The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation.

Fond Remembrances and Condolences: During visiting hours on Thursday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., friends and well-wishers are invited to pay their respects and offer condolences to the family.
