Carol Kohl Obituary, Death – Carol Sue “Susie” Kohl, a beloved member of the Red Oak community, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024, at the age of 81. Her life was marked by love, resilience, and a passion for adventure. Let us take a moment to celebrate the legacy of this remarkable woman.

 Early Life and Family

Susie was born on June 11, 1942, in Syracuse, New York, to Thomas and Katharine Davis. She spent her formative years in Geneva, New York, and Glendale, California, where she graduated from Glendale High School in 1961. Susie was blessed with four children from her first marriage to James Nail Sims: Sindy, Katharine, Robin, and Marshall. Later in life, she found love again with Philip Kohl, whom she married on November 1, 2005, in Honolulu, HI.

 A Life of Adventure

Susie was a free spirit who loved to explore the world. She and Philip made their home in Huntington Beach, California, where they enjoyed the sunshine and surf. Traveling was one of Susie’s greatest passions, and she seized every opportunity to embark on new adventures. Whether riding horses or discovering new cultures, Susie lived life to the fullest.

 Contributions to the Community

During her time in Red Oak, Susie became an integral part of the community. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and willingness to lend a helping hand. From her work as a seamstress to her assistance with local art shows, Susie made a positive impact on everyone she met. Her warm smile and infectious spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

 Cherished Memories

Susie leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. She is survived by her children, stepchildren, grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends who were touched by her presence. While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the beautiful memories she created and the lives she touched along the way. In accordance with Susie’s wishes, a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is assisting the family with cremation services. As we bid farewell to Susie, may we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will live on in our hearts forever.  Rest in peace, dear Susie. You will always be remembered with love and fondness.
