Joann Pohlman Obituary, Death –  Joann Helen (Roenicke) Pohlman, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was born on January 9, 1930, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Walter and Helen Roenicke. Growing up during the Great Depression and World War II, Joann learned the value of hard work and perseverance. She began her career while still in high school, eventually finding her passion working for the Saginaw County government. Over 36 years, she served in various roles, including Assistant Treasurer and secretary for the Circuit Court.

 Personal Life and Interests
On February 3, 1951, Joann married Carl A. Pohlman, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage until his passing in 2016. Together, they raised three children: Carl (Cap), Janelle, and Carter. Joann was deeply devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with them, as well as hosting friends and relatives. She was an active member of her local Catholic churches and community organizations, finding joy in volunteering and connecting with others. In her free time, she enjoyed hobbies such as walking, sewing, knitting, and traveling.

  Retirement and Legacy
After retiring in 1999, Joann and Carl moved to Gladwin, Michigan, where they lived on Wiggins Lake. Later, Joann relocated to Spring Lake and eventually settled in Abilene, Texas, where she spent her remaining years surrounded by loved ones. Joann will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, generosity, and dedication to her family and community.

 Survived By
Joann is survived by her children: Carl (Cap) Pohlman, Dr. Janelle (Dr. Dennis) O’Connell, and Carter (Barbara) Pohlman. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, her brother Walter Roenicke, sister-in-law Judy Pohlman, and several nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Joann was preceded in death by her husband, twin sons Christopher and Craig Pohlman, sister Jean Thornton, and other family members.
