David Mendoza Obituary, Death –  The Portland Police have identified the motorcyclist tragically killed in an accident that occurred on Wednesday afternoon in the Parkrose Heights neighborhood. The victim, Jeremy T. Bankston, aged 38, was riding a 2001 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on NE 111th Avenue when the incident unfolded.

Excessive Speed and Fatal Consequences 

According to the police report, Bankston was traveling well above the posted speed limit of 20 mph. This reckless speed, combined with the dynamics of the road, proved to be a deadly mix. As Bankston approached the intersection of NE 111th Avenue and NE Eugene Street, tragedy struck.

At the same moment, a driver operating a 2018 Dodge Caravan was executing a turn from eastbound NE Eugene Street onto northbound NE 111th Avenue. In an attempt to avoid the collision, Bankston applied his brakes, but it was too late. The motorcycle skidded out of control, leading to a devastating crash. Bankston was ejected from his bike and tragically slid beneath the Dodge Caravan.
